PETER O’CONNOR – Barrister

Peter has practised as a solicitor and barrister in the area for the last 30 years. He has extensive knowledge and experience in criminal and administrative law cases and coronial inquests.

He first commenced practise in Newcastle as a solicitor in 1981 for what was then the equivalent of the Legal Aid Commission. He re-located to Lismore and worked as a solicitor in the Legal Aid office in Lismore.

He was called to the Bar in 1989 and was one of the founding members of Lismore Chambers , the first Barrister’s Chambers in the area.

He has a wealth of practical knowledge in relation to the Courts and legal profession in the Far North Coast and the New England.

Peter accepts matters directly from the public in most Local Court and District Court sentence appeals.

  • Sentences, defended hearings; Apprehended personal and domestic violence matters

  • Appearing on behalf of defendants in local government, environment and occupational health and safety prosecutions.
